Two ways to ship by container

LCL (Less than Container Load)

A shared container carrying goods from several shippers. It saves costs on small shipments or goods that take up little space, since you pay freight only for the space your cargo occupies.

Lower cost: no need to pay for the whole container
Suits shipments too large for parcel services but too small to fill a container
Allow extra time for consolidation before departure
Ideal for general goods in small volumes

FCL (Full Container Load)

A full container used by a single shipper, with no sharing with other customers.

Lower cost per unit for large volumes
Efficient use of container space
Less time spent preparing and loading goods
Full control over the security of your goods
Suits large volumes or large items such as vehicles, machinery and heavy materials

How freight is calculated

By volume (LCL)

Length × width × height (cm) ÷ 1,000,000 = CBM
Example: 200 × 150 × 100 cm = 3 CBM

By container (FCL)
